Restricted and Prohibited Items for Shipping to the UAE
There are certain items that you are not allowed to bring with you to Dubai, and if these are found within your personal effects shipment they will be seized, and carry the risk of fines or potentially imprisonment! Some are obvious, some are less so, but some examples are;
- Weapons (firearms, swords etc)
- Alcohol and narcotics of any kind
- Banned drugs and medicines (even prescription medicines in large quantities)
- Religious icons
- Items for gambling
- Religious books
There are some items that are restricted, and if these are found during the Customs examination, they will be subject to further checks before they are released. These include;
- Records, tapes, films, photograph, books, magazines etc – these will be inspected and are subject to censorship and confiscation
Live plants, seeds, flowers etc
*The Customs examination can take up to 10-15days. Again, sending your packed inventory to our moving consultant as soon as possible allows us to check your items for potential issues.
